Commission for Property Agents is still 1 or 2%, Will Increase or not ?

A Few days ago, I went to visit a Developer (Builder) Office, where I asked what commission you offer to Channel Partners (Agent)?

He told me that 1%..

With a gentle smiley face, I told him that 1% is very low.

Main Interesting point is “Still 1%” offered by the Developer. 

In the last 10 years, Min. Rs. 10k to 15k increased per Square Yard in Ahmedabad Property Market.   

2015 of Before  – 1 to 2% commission offered by Developer

2022 – Today after 7 Years – Still in the same position .. This is Unbelievable but Truth.

2030 – After 8 Years – May be 1 to 2%

Anybody is responsible for that ?  Nobody

Because of Not any Proper guidelines, Not any Rules & Regulations and Not any Strong Associations for Real Estate Agents and This is Truth.

Before the Gujarat Election,  About 15 Strikes & Protest were going on in Gujarat & Most of them by Govt. Employees Association or Organization. You know Why, Because of their Rights ( Salary, Pension, Wages etc..).  

The Banking Association reserved 5 to 10 days for Strikes in every year for their demands.

Each & Every Sector has their proper Guidelines, Policies & Rules & Regulations for Min. to Max. prices for their Services or Goods, Benefits, their Responsibilities, What to Do or Not to Do etc.. etc… etc… 

If you compare prices of Petrol – Diesel, Milks, Foods Items or Vegetables before Ten years & Present, A lot of different and also compare with all Services Providers rates in India. 

In our country,  CA, CS, Doctors, Architect, Engineers, Advocates etc. all have their specific consulting charges and these charges will be increasing as per their Name, Area, Places, Office Location etc…etc…

But In the Real Estate Agent Profession, you will see equality whether Society Agents or the Agents who are sitting in the 2000 Sq. Ft Office, both will get only 1 or 2% Commission from Builders or Customers. Both Agents are equals. And this equality will be seen only in this Field.

Demand – Supply – Quality – Quantity all rules are not applicable for this field.

Real Estate Agents are a Services Provider in the Real Estate Sector but we have not decided or fixed our Services Rate. A Real Estate Developer decides the value of our Services ? 

Are there any Calculations, any Policies or Suggestions by the Indian Govt ?

Why are we not fixing this ?

We don’t have any Rights or Authority ?

And If fixed by Real Estate Developers then on Which & What Criteria?

Why only 1 or 2%?  

If 1 or 2 % then for how long?  

Will be same in 2025, 2030, 2035,? Or जब तक सुरज चाँद रहेगा, कमीशन 1 या 2% ही रहेगा ..  

Any Possibility for Rate(%) to Increase or not ?

Everyone knows that, A Customer is the King of the Market. We have Customers but Big AFSOS, We don’t fix Brokerage Rate, Payments Terms etc…

We are not only Selling a Properties but we are also selling Financial product Home Loan. We are Biggest Seller of Inventory in Real Estate Sector and We are the 2nd largest Home loans contributors in India after the Banking Channel.

Real estate Sector is the 2nd largest employment generator and GDP contributor in India & and We are proud to be a part of this. 

India has a Largest Mobile Consumer Market, but not a single major Brand Name in Mobile Manufacturer in India. Same here, Real Estate Agents have major contributions in the Indian Market but Don’t have any….

I hope that it will increase in the coming time.
